About Wool Tree Yarn...
Lucky Ewe is thrilled to provide our customers with our own line of hand dyed fiber, Wool Tree Yarn!
Wool Tree is unique in its beauty and story. An amalgamation of true love for high quality natural fibers, this blend of superwash merino and silk is colored with dyes infused primarily with organic ingredients, many of which were harvested in or near New Braunfels by local fiber artist Casey Galloway, who uses only native plants, bugs, bark, and seed to create the amazing colors for this line, the old fashioned way, over an open flame.
The Wool Tree logo is based on a lithograph from medieval Europe when cotton was first imported to the continent.
Without any knowledge of how it was derived, people could only imagine that cotton must be produced by plant-borne sheep. John Mandeville, writing in 1350, stated that "There grew a wonderful tree which bore tiny lambs on the ends
of its branches. "
Wool Tree Yarn is a fingering weight. Each skein is 438 yards of 70/30 Superwash Merino/Silk.
